A New Invention Raises Questions
This is the improved version of Wang Wenxi's original quake-resistant bed. This one turns into a metal box when a strong quake strikes. The bed is embedded with a mechanism which consists of a pair of anti-synchronized motors that is activated once an earthquake is detected and automatically encloses the bed with a metal box.
A Compelling Lead
A high-tech bed that protects you from falling debris and keeps you safe during an earthquake is a great idea in theory. But a Chinese inventor has come up with a design that has been described by some members of the media as being scarier than an actual earthquake. This is the improved version of the original quake-resistant bed.
The irony is that they'll definitely keep you up at night. A video emerged showing prototypes and animations for beds that are supposedly earthquake-proof.
